Drift Prints
Drift Prints
Many plastics float in and on water. Under the sun’s influence, plastic becomes brittle and disintegrates into ever smaller pieces. Birds and fish mistake these colourfull pieces for food, with disastrous consequences. Microplastics also influence the natural workings of plankton, single cell life and water vegetation. In addition, pieces of kerosene, discharged by vessels as a result of cleaning their hulls at sea, wash up on the beach. A Drift Print is a cyanotype image of a collection of tiny pieces of plastic or kerosene, grouped by place of collection.
